Eli Manning and the Giants have lost five straight games and come into this contest off an uninspiring 20-13 home loss against Washington two weeks ago. Manning passed for 316 yards with one touchdown but the veteran signal-caller also tossed a pair of costly picks against the Skins while the game’s final score finished Under the 44-point total.
New York has been held to 18 points or less in three of their last five games while scoring more than 20 points just twice this season. The G-Men are ranked an uninspiring 27th in scoring (18.8 ppg) and a slightly less ugly 22nd in points allowed (25.6 ppg).
“We are not scoring enough points,” Manning said. “We are playing in close games and we are just not finding ways to win them, unfortunately. We have to be able to move the ball more consistently and we have to control the clock to help out our defense.”
San Francisco 49ers
The Niners got a phenomenal performance out of 2017 undrafted quarterback Nick Mullens in his NFL debut last weekend. The former Southern Mississippi signal-caller completed 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions in his first NFL action while leading Frisco to an emphatic 34-3 beatdown over beleaguered Oakland last weekend in a contest that finished Under the 44-point total. San Francisco is ranked 23rd in scoring (18.0 ppg) and 24th in points allowed (26.6 ppg).
