With the start of Week 16 quickly approaching, it’s time for another round of NFL predictions for the week and boy do have some predictions for you! With teams in both conferences looking to either get into the postseason or improve their current seeds, let’s find out what could go down on NFL gridirons across the nation this coming weekend.
Henry Tops 125 Yards, 2 Scores Vs. Skins
Former Alabama Heisman Trophy winner (2015) Derrick Henry is starting to play like the dominating back he was in college and he’s making the Tennessee Titans far more difficult to deal with than they were earlier in the season before they started featuring their bruising running back as the central point of their offense.
Now, Henry has rushed for 408 yards the last two weeks by gashing Jacksonville for 238 yards and four touchdowns two weeks ago before backing that up with 170 yards and two scores last weekend against the Giants. Now, I’m predicting Henry is going to put up at least 125 yards and two scores against a Washington Redskins team that ranks a modest 18th against the run (116.6 ypg). Henry suddenly looks like a legitimate superstar and Washington is going to get a taste of that this weekend.
Ramsey Makes Tannehill His B*#ch!
While Miami’s Ryan Tannehill has thrown an impressive eight TD passes and just one interception over his last four starts, he looked completely mediocre in passing for just 108 yards with no TDs and no picks against Minnesota last weekend. Now, while Miami has a great chance to take down the reeling Jacksonville Jaguars in this contest, I’m thinking Tannehill had better stay away from Jags’ superstar cornerback Jalen Ramsey. While the former Florida State star is a bit of a loud-mouthed jackass more often than not, the fact of the matter is that Ramsey is supremely gifted and very good at shutting down opposing receivers. If Ryan Tannehill throws Jalen Ramsey’s way this weekend, I’m thinking Ramsey is going to make Miami’s underachieving starter his b*#ch!
Mayfield Outdoes Driskel!
2016 sixth-round draft pick Jeff Driskel has been pretty decent for Cincinnati in three starts this season. he’s completed 59.7 percent of his passes for 775 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions while leading the Bengals to an uninspiring 1-2 mark along the way. Still, the former Florida and Louisiana Tech signal-call is nowhere near as talented 0 or ballsy – as Cleveland’s rookie franchise quarterback Baker Mayfield. The former Oklahoma Heisman Trophy winner has passed for 3,065 yards with 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions while completing 63.9 percent of his passes in 11 starts. The Browns have won four of five, so it’s definitely no stretch to see Mayfield outplaying Driskel this weekend – even though I suspect Cincy is going to give Cleveland fits on Sunday.
Brady, Pats, Explode On Bills!
I know Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have dropped two straight games heading into Week 16 and that Brady has looked and played, dare I say it, like a fading veteran whose skills are declining, but I’m expecting him to bounce back with a stupendous, 300-yard, three-touchdown performance against Buffalo this coming weekend. New England has owned their AFC East division rivals and now, they’re completely desperate as they seek to shore up their uninspiring play and pick up some momentum prior to the playoffs.
Brees Bests Big Ben!
Steelers future Hall of Famer Ben Roethlisberger has two Super Bowl rings while Saints future Hall of Famer Drew Brees has one Super Bowl title in his career. Still, I don’t think it’s very close when comparing the two these days with Brees still playing like the best quarterback on the planet while Roethlisberger is clearly a cut below these days, particularly when it comes to turning the ball over. Case in point. While Brees has thrown 31 TD passes and just five interceptions, Roethlisberger has tossed 30 TD passes, but three times as many picks (15). His ability to avoid turnovers, combined with the fact that they’re playing at home, will be the reason why Brees best Big Ben in Week 16!
