Von Miller and the Denver Broncos are playing their best football of the season at just the right time. Denver has won three consecutive games including their dominating 24-10 win over Cincinnati on Sunday. Rookie running back Phillip Lindsay rushed for a career-high 157 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way to victory while Case Keenum passed for 151 yards with one TD pass. Now, the Broncos are looking to finish strong. Denver averages 23.0 points per game (17th) while allowing just 21.8 points per game defensively (11th).
“Four games left, and they’ve got to be our best four,” linebacker Von Miller said. “We took a long way to get there, and there’s still a long way to go.”
The 49ers have lost three straight and nine of their last 10 games including their embarrassing 43-16 beatdown loss against Seattle this past weekend. Quarterback Nick Mullens passed for a fantastic 414 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, but the Niners allowed Russell Wilson to toss four TD passes in the loss. Cornerback Richard Sherman saw his return to Seattle ruined by Wilson’s fantastic performance. San Francisco averages just 21.2 points per game (22nd) while giving up 28.0 points per contest defensively (29th).
“I’m a ballplayer and at the end of the day the field is the same length and everything else is the same,” Sherman said. “You just go out there and play your game and try to give your team the best chance to win, and unfortunately we didn’t get the win today.”

Pittsburgh has lost two straight and they let what looked like a sure win get away from them in their heartbreaking 33-30 home loss against the Chargers on Sunday night. Ben Roethlisberger passed for 281 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, but the Steelers couldn’t stop Philip Rivers and company when it mattered most. Now, the Steelers are just a half-game up on second place Baltimore in the AFC North.
“Don’t need to panic,” Roethlisberger said. “Don’t need to worry.”
The Steelers average 28.8 points per game (4th) while giving up 23.5 points per contest defensively (16th).
“There’s a quarter left of football,” Brown said. “We’ve got to continue to figure out a way to win and get ourselves to the dance.”
Oakland has lost two straight and seven of eight, but they didn’t exactly roll over, but they still managed to come up short in their 40-33 home loss against Kansas City this past weekend. The Raiders got 285 passing yards and three TD tosses from Derek Carr in the win but Oakland also gave up four TD passes to Chiefs blossoming superstar Patrick Mahomes. The Raiders average just 18.3 points per game (29th) while giving up a whopping 30.6 points per contest defensively (31st).
“It’s disappointing,” said veteran running back Doug Martin, who lost one of three fumbles for Oakland. “I don’t think it should have been that close. We should have been on top. The turnovers really, really hurt us.”

The Rams have won three straight games including their convincing 30-16 win over Detroit on Sunday as a 10.5-point road favorite. Todd Gurley rushed for 132 yards and two touchdowns to lead the way to victory while Jared Goff passed for 207 yards with one touchdown and one interception.
“We’re in a position right now that we feel good about,” coach Sean McVay said. “If we take care of our business, all the rest of that stuff takes care of itself.”
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald added two sacks in the win and now L.A. is looking to take another step toward getting the top seed in the NFC playoffs.
“We’re not satisfied yet,” Donald said. “But we’re headed in the right direction.”
The Rams average 34.9 points per game to rank second in scoring while allowing the opposition to 24.8 points per game defensively (19th).
Chicago had their five-game winning streak unceremoniously snapped in their surprising 30-27 overtime loss against the Giants last weekend as veteran backup Chase Daniel passed for 285 yards with one touchdown, but two costly interceptions. The Bears got the game to overtime by outscoring the G-Men 13-3 in the fourth quarter, but they couldn’t finish and saw their effort go out the window on Aldrick Rosa’s 44-yard game winner in overtime.
“I’m proud of them for fighting to the end. Not every team will do that,” Bears coach Matt Nagy said. “We’ve got a bunch of high-character guys that will fight till the end and that’s a credit to them. We’ve got to figure out how to learn from this. This is part of that callus that goes on.”
Chicago averages 28.7 points per game (5th) while limiting the opposition to just 20.1 points per game defensively to rank fourth in points allowed.

I know the Bears are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss, but I’m going with the more experienced rams to get the big road win to stay one game in front of New Orleans in the race for first place in the NFC playoffs.
