NFL Week 16 Underdogs Worth Betting On Washington-Redskins-at-Tennessee-Titans

The Redskins managed to keep their playoff hopes alive by scoring 10 fourth-quarter points to get the stunning 16-13 upset win over Jacksonville. Washington turned to veteran Josh Johnson to get the win and Johnson responded by passing for 151 yards with one touchdown and no picks. Washington averages just 18.9 points per game (28th) while allowing 22.1 points per game defensively (14th).

Tennessee has won three straight including their convincing 17-0 shutout win over the Giants last weekend. While quarterback Marcus Mariota passed for just 88 yards in the win, powerful running back Derrick Henry had his second straight stupendous performance with 170 rushing yards and two scores on 33 carries. Tennessee averages just 19.1 points per game () while limiting the opposition to just 18.1 points per contest defensively to rank second in points allowed.

For this Week 16 matchup, I like Tennessee to get the win, but certainly not by the 11 points it would take for them to cover the spread as a double-digit home fave. Washington is 6-0 ATS in their last six Week 16 games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games against a team with a winning record. Tennessee is 1-6 ATS in their last seven Saturday games and 1-7-1 ATS in their last nine Week 16 games. Tennessee wins, but the spread is too big for them to cover against a Redskins team that has a great defense and a bunch of motivation.

Predicted Score: Tennessee Titans 20 | Washington Redskins 14

NFL Week 16 Underdogs Worth Betting On Baltimore-Ravens-at-Los-Angeles-Chargers

The Baltimore Ravens won for the fourth time in five starts with rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson under center by beating Tampa Bay 20-12 last weekend. Jackson passed for 131 yards and one touchdown while rushing for an additional 95 yards. Running back Gus Edwards rushed for 104 yards and one score and Baltimore’s defense held Tampa Bay quarterback Jameis Winston without a TD pass while picking him off once. Baltimore averages 24.4 points per game () while limiting the opposition to just 18.1 points per game to rank first in points allowed.

Los Angeles has won four straight and a blistering 10 of their last 11 games including their jaw-dropping 29-28 comeback win over Kansas City on Thursday. Veteran quarterback Philip Rivers passed for 313 yards with two touchdowns and two picks while running back Justin Jackson rushed for 58 yards and one score. The Chargers average 28.2 points per game to rank a stellar fourth in scoring while limiting the opposition to 21.3 points per contest defensively to rank ninth in points allowed.

For this Week 16 matchup, I’m going with resurgent Baltimore to cover the chalk in a contest that looks like a classic field goal finish to me. The Ravens have gone 18-7-4 ATS in their last 29 road games against a team with a winning record and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 road games. On the flip side of the coin, the Chargers have gone an uninspiring 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 following an ATS win. With the underdog and road team in this rivalry going an identical 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings, I say back the Ravens to cover in a narrow loss.

Predicted Score: Los Angeles Chargers 24 | Baltimore Ravens 21

NFL Week 16 Underdogs Worth Betting On Cincinnati-Bengals-at-Cleveland-Browns

The Bengals managed to keep their nearly non-existent playoff hopes alive by smacking Oakland around 30-16 last weekend to cash in as a 3-point home favorite. Quarterback Jeff Driskell passed for 130 yards with one touchdown and one interception while Joe Mixon rushed for 129 yards with two touchdowns. Cincinnati’s defense limited Derek Carr to one touchdown pass in the win. Cincy averages 24.1 points per game (14th) while allowing 29.5 points per contest defensively (31st).

The Browns are playing their best football of the season at just the right time, having won four of their last five games including their stunning 17-16 win over Denver last weekend as a 1-point road dog. Baker Mayfield passed for 188 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and Cleveland’s defense harassed Case Keenum into a two-interception, no touchdown performance. Cleveland averages 22.1 points per game (19th) while allowing 24.9 points per contest defensively (22nd).

For this Week 16 AFC North divisional battle, I’m going to advise you to back the Cincinnati Bengals to easily cover the spread as a touchdown road dog. I know the Browns are playing well right now and they’ve definitely looked a lot better under Gregg Williams than they ever did under Hue Jackson, but Cincinnati is completely desperate and they’re really a lot better than we’ve seen the last few weeks without starting quarterback Andy Dalton.

The Bengals are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against their AFC counterparts and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games. Cleveland has gone 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games, but they’re also just 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games against their AFC North division rivals. I like the Bengals to cover the chalk with room to spare!

Predicted Score: Cincinnati Bengals 23 | Cleveland Browns 21
