According to recent odds for the NBA Playoffs in 2023, the Phoenix Suns are the favorites to win the Western Conference and the NBA Championship.
The Phoenix’s prospects of winning the NBA title, however, are depicted differently in recent NBA playoff projections.
According to two different websites, the Suns have a 5% or lesser probability of winning the NBA Finals this year.
Phoenix is ranked seventh in the NBA and has a 4% chance of winning the NBA title, according to Five Thirty Eight’s updated NBA projections for 2022–23.
The Boston Celtics are projected to have a 27% probability of winning the championship, trailing three other Eastern Conference clubs.
The Philadelphia 76ers are in third place with 13%, and the Milwaukee Bucks are second with 16%.
The Suns come in after four Western Conference teams. The Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies both have an 11% chance of winning the NBA Finals this season, and the Golden State Warriors have a 5% chance.
Phoenix is ranked eighth in Basketball Reference’s playoff probabilities report, with a 5% chance of winning the NBA championship.
According to that site, the Celtics have a 24.8% chance of winning the NBA championship this season, while the Cleveland Cavaliers have a 14.6% chance. The Grizzlies’ percentage is 10.1%.
The Bucks have a 9.9% chance of winning the title, while the 76ers have a 9.6% chance. At 8.6%, the Nuggets are ahead of the Suns, and at 6.1%, the Sacramento Kings are also ahead of the Suns.
NBA title odds for the Suns are much higher
Recent odds on the Suns’ chances of winning the NBA title are substantially greater.
Phoenix is third in the betting odds at +450 to win the NBA Championship, according to YouWager.lv Sportsbook.
The only teams higher are the Bucks (+300) and Celtics (+325).
At +215 odds, it has the Suns as the Western Conference favorites. The Warriors are in third place at +500, followed by the Nuggets at +325.
