Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota is supposed to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender after reaching the NFC Championship a year ago, but the Vikes looked completely awful in their stunning 27-6 home loss against a previously winless Buffalo Bills this past weekend. While quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 40 of 55 passes for 296 yards with one touchdown and one interception, Minnesota was held to a pitiful 14 yards rushing in the embarrassing loss.
“Great defense, well-coached, great scheme,” Cousins said. “They have legitimate players at a lot of different positions.”
The Vikings played under the 41-point total against the Bills last weekend, but the Over is 5-2 in Minnesota’s last 7 games following a straight up loss.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams improved to 3-0 on the season by beating the Los Angeles Chargers 35-23 on Sunday as Jared Goff passed for 345 yards with three touchdowns and one interception while running back Todd Gurley rushed 23 times for 105 yards and one score.
“It felt like a good rivalry,” said Goff. “I think you could feel the crowd. You could tell there were two sides in here. Ultimately I think we had a little bit more, being at home, but you could definitely feel it. I think they are a great team, we’re a great team, and hopefully, that can continue for a long time.”
Los Angeles played Over the game’s 49-point total and the Over is 5-1 in the Rams last 6 games following a straight up win and 8-2 in their last 10 games against a team with a losing record.
Expert Pick and Prediction
Look, with Minnesota coming up with a massive stinker against Buffalo last week and looking nothing like a legitimate Super Bowl contender, the Los Angeles Rams are most definitely the pick to get the win at home in this contest. Having said that, I think both teams’ defenses are going to play well to keep the score in this contest just under the 48.5-point total.
The Under is 15-6 in Minnesota’s last 21 games after scoring less than 15 points in their previous game and 5-2 in the Vikings last 7 Week 4 games.
The Under is also 10-4 in Minnesota’s last 14 road games against a team with a winning home record and 11-5 in their last 16 games in September.
Last but not least, the Under is also 10-3 in the Rams last 13 home games against a team with a losing road record. I like the under, just barely!
Predicted Score: Rams 28 Vikings 20
